About Dr. Leininger
Dr. Leininger is the founder of South County Animal Hospital in Morgan Hill. A practicing veterinarian since 1989, he earned his undergraduate degree from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, and his doctorate from the University of California, Davis. His practice has earned certification from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) for excellence in animal care-a distinction shared by only 12% of the veterinary hospitals in the country.
Dr. Leininger is active in several professional organizations including AAHA, the California Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
In his spare time, Rick is an avid wine enthusiast, golfer, and accomplished tri-athlete. Dr. Leininger and his wife, Denise, are life long residents of Morgan Hill. They have two grown children; Diane and Brett.
Dr. Griffin, DVM

About Dr. Griffin
Dr. Griffin has been a practicing veterinarian since 1996. She earned her undergraduate degree from San Jose State University with a concentration in zoology, and her doctorate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.
After graduation, Dr. Michelle practiced in upstate New York for 7 years. She accepted an associate veterinary position with South County Animal Hospital in 2004, and became a partner in 2009.
Dr. Griffin is an advocate for the foundation “Air For Paws“, a local organization dedicated to saving the lives of pets by providing resuscitation kits to our local fire departments.
Dr. Griffin has volunteered her time to train local firemen on the proper use of CPR equipment.
Dr. Griffin lives in Gilroy with her daughter Kyndra.
Dr. Fusco, DVM

About Dr. Fusco
Dr. Fusco earned her undergraduate degree from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and her doctorate from the University of California, Davis, following closely in Dr. Rick’s footsteps. After graduation, she practiced in Sacramento and Fair Oaks prior to joining South County Animal Hospital. She has special interest in dermatology and internal medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Fusco enjoys her horse, hiking, baking and photography.
Dr. McLeod, DVM
Veterinarian
About Dr. McLeod
Dr. Caitlin McLeod is a 2020 graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. At UC Davis she obtained veterinary training in both small and large animals, specializing in equine medicine while also working as a veterinary technician in the livestock hospital. Dr. McLeod also obtained additional training with VERT (Veterinary Emergency Response Team). An additional area of interest was dermatology for both small and large animals.
Her undergraduate education was completed at Cal Poly Pomona where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Science. Since earning her doctorate of veterinary medicine, Dr. McLeod has concentrated on small animal medicine throughout California in the cities of Banning, Redlands and Hollister. She is a proponent of both preventative medicine and client education. In addition, her love of dermatology has been an asset to her many clients.
Dr. McLeod grew up in southern California with two main interests: water sports and equine activities. Caitlin is an avid equestrian and represented the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Rodeo as their Queen and Jr. Queen for 4 years. When time allows, she can be found on the lake where a favorite activity is to fly board.
Caitlin moved to Hollister, CA with her Australian husband in August of 2022.
